SoHo

A blend of "South" and "Houston" (south of Houston Street), the area received historical designation as SoHo in 1973. SoHo's boutiques and restaurants are along Broadway, Prince and Spring Streets. In recent years, chain stores such as Bloomingdale's, Victoria's Secret, and J. Crew have become part of the SoHo shopping scene. Foodies love SoHo for Dean and DeLuca, and for many of the European-style cafes that define the neighborhood. SoHo is home to such hotspots as Mercer Kitchen and Balthazar.
